Thank you for visiting my new website.  I'll be adding elements as my business grows, but I wanted to take a minute to share a little about myself and how I view photography.

I am a wife and mother first.  In fact, if it weren't for my husband and children, I may never have discovered my love of photography.  I've been taking pictures for a long time...disposable cameras, point and shoots, my phone.  I received my first DSLR as a gift when my first daughter was born in 2009, and I promptly began documenting every minute detail of her life.  Over the years, I have studied and practiced and learned, and fell deeply in love with capturing the light, emotions, and beauty that make up our everyday lives.

Out of obligation, I photograph my childrens' birthdays and holidays, but, if I'm being completely honest, those aren't the moments that move me as an artist.  It is the everyday moments that make me want to grab my camera.  Holding hands on a walk, reading stories before bed, playing in the yard, eating together...these are the daily things that I truly love documenting and I feel are worth celebrating.

Somewhere along the way, I realized that photographs are not just a record of how people and things look at any given time. They are portal to a memory, and to the exact emotions one was feeling while that image was created.  Photographs are so important, and creating them in a genuine, honest way is what is most important to me.  

I have a very clear vision of how my lifestyle photography sessions will unfold.  Moments, connections, emotions, and light will always override perfection.  Always.  You will be gently guided into candid, authentic moments that tell your story as a family.  I will be creating art that I hope you will print for your walls, your family, and your children.  I will not be using props, I will not be asking anyone to "Say cheese!"  Instead, I will be focusing on those moments of genuine connection that create the fabric of your unique family.
